Description

Craig Sumner was born in Middlewich, Cheshire. He studied art at Stoke-on-Trent College of Art and at the Royal College of Art. He subsequently enjoyed a successful  thirty year career in design. He co-founded his own companies SR Design Associated, Madrigal (Design) Ltd., and The Screen Supply Company Ltd.

Since his retirement from design in 1999 he has become a committed painter. He works predominantly in oils and watercolour. He also draws in pen and Indian ink. His subjects are “anything and everything from landscape to still life and from wildlife to portraits.”

Craig Sumner is multi-award winning painter who exhibits regularly in Staffordshire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire. He also exhibits in London at The Royal Academy, at the Llewellyn – Alexander Gallery and at the Mall Gallery.

To quote Craig “If you appreciate painting that is not slick or fashion led but based purely on observation and draughtsmanship have a look at (my) pictures”
