Dean Entwistle was born in Manchester in 1964. He is a self-taught painter whose desire is to create something of beauty.

He lived on the Isle of Anglesey for six years when serving in the RAF. He then spent ten years living and working as an illustrator in London.

Entwistle works with the mediums of tempera, watercolour and oils. He endeavours to create something of beauty. He uses watercolour because of its ability to capture atmosphere. He wants to show the evocative relationship between light and weather. He believes that watercolour resonates truly with the strong British Romantic tradition. He produces around twelve paintings per year.

Dean exhibits around the UK and overseas, including the Royal Watercolour Society.

The investment potential of his original works has recently become evident and is highly sought after by collectors. Clients have included the BBC, Dorling Kindersley, the Sultan of Oman, Municipality of Dubai, Irish Government and The Royal Festival Hall.

He states  “My aim is to uncover something hidden in plain sight. Each painting is an attempt to express thoughts and feelings that connect, stimulate and intrigue the viewer.”
