Herbert William Wright was born in Walsall in the West Midlands in 1912. He went on to study at Bournemouth College of Art. He regularly exhibited in London from 1945 onwards.
In the 1950s he spent time painting in Avignon, France.
He was a Livery member of painters, Staines, and a member of the Chelsea Art Society.
