Born on 5 December 1864, Sheerness, Isle of Sheppey, Kent Tozer often included one or two figures, usually an elderly couple in his paintings, and is highly regarded as a painter of country life, with a bias towards cottage interiors.

He was known to have exhibited at Birmingham as well as exhibiting and selling a painting at the Opening of Newlyn Art Gallery. An artist of great skill his paintings have a strong following and his works are in collections around the world.
