Jiri Borsky gets ready to show new work for the first time in 5 years

Jiri Borsky, paintings

Jiri Borsky is set to open his latest exhibition of work next week at Trent Art Gallery in Newcastle under Lyme. Born in Dobrany, Czech Republic 1945 Jiri came to England in 1968 and worked for a time as a draughtsman at Wedgwood. In 1972 he married and settled in the Potteries, becoming a British citizen in 1975.
While studying painting at Staffordshire as a mature student, he was taught by Arthur Berry.

Now Jiri’s work is highly sought after and this is the first exhibition of his work for 5 years and has been eagerly awaited by collectors.

Jiri’s subjects are many and varied and have an intriguing and deeply considered story to tell with his passionate love of music is often reflected in his. His preferred medium is acrylic as this supports his technique of working textures into the painted image, giving his work a satisfying tactile quality.

The exhibition of Jiri’s work will be on display from 12th May to 26th May with up to 50 works on display (and for sale) at Trent Art Gallery, 19 Brunswick Street, Newcastle under Lyme
